AFA opts for ergonomic lift table
AFA is the best expert regarding customisation and metalworking. In their Dutch workshop, they work for a diverse range of clients on a variety of metal products. You name it, AFA builds it. Some examples are: steel shop displays, steel frames, stainless steel drawer guides, steel housing for waste bins, and aluminium electronics chassis. AFA is a small-scale business with modern machinery. A fleet in which a welding table didn’t play a role until recently.
Dennis Hoogeveen, the owner on the picture above, elaborates. “As sheet metal workers, we’d like to weld as little as possible because it’s a rather labour intensive way to join mental. For what has been welded, also needs to be finished. But sometimes welding is necessary. Employees shared they’d like to be supported by a welding table in their work. So we put a welding table on our wish list”.
Right before summer we secured a contract that required a lot of welding. That was the right moment to turn our intention into concrete action. “A representative from one of the big brands visited us. But their welding tables came at an astronomical cost. So we kept looking and our employees proactively joined the search. I also visit competitors’ workshops regularly. Several of them had welding tables from Lastafelshop and were highly satisfied with them. So I paid a visit to the Lastafelshop workshop”.
